MS Windows Programms Link List

In the last time some peoples asked me to give/send them a copy of office or dayli work tools. Of course I do not support piracy, so I've put a list of freeware (Software you don't have to pay for) together. With all this programms you should be able to do the same as you would do with commercial software, or even more!

• Office
  1. OpenOffice.org A derivation from StarOffice, but free, can read and write doc files
  2. Abiword A text system for students, small and quick
  3. LyX A font end for the LaTeX docummentation language
• Firewall
  1. ZoneAlarm a personal firewall for SOHO use
• AntiVirus
  1. AntiVir Personal a free personal virus scanner for SOHO use, (update it weekly, or better, one a day !!)
• Zip / Packer
  1. 7-Zip a free open sourcepacker for zip, tar, gnuzip ...
• Browser / Email Client
  1. Firefox a free browser
  2. Thunderbird a free email client
• Image Viewer / Manipulator
  1. IrfanView a free image view and manipulation programm
  2. GIMP GNU Image Manipulation Programm, a free image manipulation programm, like photo shop
• Telnet and SSH
  1. PuTTY a free win32 ssh and telnet client with x tunneling functions (use all commands like ssh, scp etc.)
     
• Spy Detectors
  1. SpyBot yet another spy bot finder, you can donate to this young german student
